Aunty Kemi's Kelewele. (spicy fried plantains)

This is a spicy Ghanaian street food.
Ingredients
  • 2 medium to large plantains(medium ripened, not too soft)
  • 4 roasted ehuru seeds(optional)
  • ½ an inch of fresh ginger(crushed into a paste. you could use ginger powder. about 1-1½ tsp)
  • 1tbsp dry chili flakes or you could use habanero(ata-rodo)
  • oil for frying
  • A pinch of salt
Instructions
  1. Roast and grind ehuru seeds until fluffy
  2. peel and cut your plantains into bite sized pieces.
  3. heat a deep frying pan with some sunflower oil
  4. season your plantains with all the ingredients and fry until golden brown
  5. let plantain rest before serving
