Nigerian Mango, Avocado and Scent leaf Salsa

  • 1 small sweet mango(it has to be ripe)
  • 1 avocado(English pear for Nigerians)
  • 1 large tomato(deseeded and diced)
  • 1 small purple onion(diced)
  • I small garlic(crushed into a paste.Though optional)
  • a hand full of basil or scent leaves
  • 1 small sweet lime(yellow lime or a small lemon works)
  • ⅛tsp Cameroon pepper or chili flakes or regular dry pepper
  • ¼tsp black pepper
  • salt to taste
  1. peel the mango and cut the meaty part into small chunks
  2. Peel the avocado and cut into small chunks
  3. mix with the tomato, onion, garlic and basil. Squeeze in the lime juice, season with the peppers and salt; then cool for about 30minutes to an hour. Serve as a dip for plantain chips or even yam
